Axe Throwing

Axe throwing is surprisingly easy to pick up, with most people able to get the axe into a target within their first five to ten throws, but very difficult to become consistently good at. In competition you have five scoring throws at a target just under 4ft across. The target is marked with four 4" rings and a 4" bullseye with the outer ring scoring 1 point, the next 2 points and so on to the bullseye scoring 5 points. A maximum score of 25, attained by many in practice, is very difficult to achieve in competition due to the extra pressure involved. The sport is more about relaxation and rhythm than brute strength.

We are also offering the public an opportunity to see axe throwing,
to be taught how to throw and to take part in our competitions.
A novice category is included at all competitions. We can also assist you in finding or setting up your local axe throwing club.

Although at first glance a very male orientated event
( very few men turn down the opportunity to have a go ) - it is highly accessible to women
too with women's competitions held alongside men's at all major events.
