Lincolnshire Musical Drive Team

Headed by Area Commissioner David Faulkner, this team of carriage drivers are all members of the British Driving Society and come from Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

There can be anything from 6 to 8 carriages in the display which is both informative and entertaining for the public.

The team entertain by driving movements together to popular music followed by information to the audience on each individual driver, pony and carriage.

The team was originally set up by David from some of his Lincolnshire members who wanted to do something different and raise money for charity along the way. Each year the team pick a charity to support.

It proved so popular that neighbouring members asked if they could join and so it became a team of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire BDS members who all drive their ponies in totally different carriage driving sports but who all come together for this display.

David also wanted to promote the hobby of carriage driving to a wider audience and to show the audiences that horses and ponies of all differing sizes and shapes can come together to put on the remarkable display that they now perform. From a Shire to a Shetland, everyone is welcome to participate and become members of the national body, The British Driving Society. The audiences are encouraged to come to speak to David or any member of the team to find out more.
