Featured AttractionsThe 8th English Open Chainsaw Carving CompetitionThe chainsaw carvers are amazing to watch! They use wood (sometimes huge bits) to produce beautiful carvings of up to 20 feet high. Each one becomes a sought after work of art. At the end of the competition the carvings are put up for auction. Seeing wood carved into something beautiful - with a chainsaw is quite wonderful! The atmosphere - the sound - the smell. Without doubt, the 8th English Open Chainsaw Carving Competition will attract many visitors again.
Previous visitors have enjoyed chainsaw carving events and appreciated the skill and talent of each individual carver. Although the fair's open from 10am till 6pm, many carvers took advantage of being allowed to start at 8am and work till 7pm each day. To complete and add the detailed finishing touches to their masterpieces, extra time was needed.
