The Multi-Scurry Challenge

The Gundog Multiscurry

Countryways Gundog Multi Scurry Challenge

2009 see the return of the Scurry Bandits running the Multi Scurry Challenge. The course this year will be aimed at all levels of entrant.

Juniors, Novice and Open dogs/handlers are all welcome to come and take part in this fun event!

RULES

INDIVIDUAL SCURRIES AND THE MULTI CHALLENGE

  1. Scurries and the Multi Challenge will be open to all recognised gundog breeds. None gundog breeds may come and have a go but will not be eligible to win the prizes on offer. Organiser’s decisions are final.
  2. The dog must stay behind the start line until the timekeeper gives the instruction to send the dog.
  3. The handler must stay behind the start line at all times.
  4. The stopwatch will start when the dog crosses the line and stop when the dog returns with the canvas dummy. The stop watch will be stopped between runs on the multiple pick-up events.
  5. A maximum time limit will be allowed per scurry.
  6. Harsh handling of the dogs as judged by the timekeeper will render the competitor disqualified and the handler will not be allowed to run in any further scurries at the show.
  7. All fouling by dogs must be cleaned up and disposed of.

Three scurries will be running again the year, a single 50 yard seen retrieve, two 50 yard seen retrieves and a 3 dummy pick up of 2 seen and one blind, through jumps and weaves.

Returning again this year due to popular demand, is the dummy launcher retrieve. The one that goes bang!

Course and their layouts will vary according to the event location and ground conditions.
