The Multi-Scurry Challenge

Countryways Gundog Multi Scurry Challenge
2009 see the return of the Scurry Bandits running the Multi Scurry Challenge. The course this year will be aimed at all levels of entrant.
Juniors, Novice and Open dogs/handlers are all welcome to come and take part in this fun event!

RULES
INDIVIDUAL SCURRIES AND THE MULTI CHALLENGE
- Scurries and the Multi Challenge will be open to all recognised gundog breeds. None gundog breeds may come and have a go but will not be eligible to win the prizes on offer. Organiser’s decisions are final.
- The dog must stay behind the start line until the timekeeper gives the instruction to send the dog.
- The handler must stay behind the start line at all times.
- The stopwatch will start when the dog crosses the line and stop when the dog returns with the canvas dummy. The stop watch will be stopped between runs on the multiple pick-up events.
- A maximum time limit will be allowed per scurry.
- Harsh handling of the dogs as judged by the timekeeper will render the competitor disqualified and the handler will not be allowed to run in any further scurries at the show.
- All fouling by dogs must be cleaned up and disposed of.
Three scurries will be running again the year, a single 50 yard seen retrieve, two 50 yard seen retrieves and a 3 dummy pick up of 2 seen and one blind, through jumps and weaves.
Returning again this year due to popular demand, is the dummy launcher retrieve. The one that goes bang!
Course and their layouts will vary according to the event location and ground conditions.

Prizes
Winners will be announced at 4.30 daily, in the entry tent. A score board will be on display and updated throughout the event so you will be able to check the winning times and see if you can beat them!
Daily prizes as detailed at each event in the entry team will be present for Open, Novice and Junior. Prizes from Gilbertson and Page in the form of dog food, trophies from Countryways gundogs and Paws prizes from Living Heritage and Scurrybandits
Fastest multi Challenge on each day will receive an invitation to the final. The registration form must be filled in.

BREAKDOWN OF SCURRY TYPES
Single RETRIEVE Single seen canvas dummy retrieved from: - 50 yards for the NOVICE and JUNIOR
2 Minutes will be allowed to complete the retrieve.
TWO DUMMY RETRIEVE
Two seen canvas dummies retrieved from: - 50 yards for the OPEN, NOVICE and JUNIOR Dummies are to be retrieved separately, in any order.
2 Minutes will be allowed to complete the course.
THREE DUMMY RETRIEVE Two seen canvas dummies One unseen (Blind) canvas dummy All three have to be retrieved from 50 yards Course is only suitable for OPEN Handlers. Dummies are to be retrieved separately, in any order.
2 Minutes will be allowed to complete the course.
DUMMY LAUNCHER Single retrieve either canvas or rubber dummy fired from a static dummy launcher approximately 50-75 yards
2 Minutes will be allowed to complete the retrieve.
