Show InformationTest Valley Angling Show, Aug 22 to Aug 23, 2009Test Valley Angling Show will be held as part of the Test Valley Game Fair held at Broadlands near Southampton. The Angling Fair has been introduced following the great success of the Burghley Game, Country and Angling Fair.
This section will have demonstrations running throughout the day a long with this a wide range of tuition is available so you can learn how to fish with The Angling Trust coaching team, The Salmon and Trout Association and The Game Angling Instructors Association. With the British Antique and Vintage Tackle Fair, Makers Showcase, Rod testing area and assorted trade stands it will make a fishermans paradise On the water demonstrations by top anglers Bob Nudd The only angler to win the World Championship 4 times. The Angling Trust The Angling Trust is the governing body for freshwater angling in England. We actively promote and encourage angling development from grass roots, through clubs and regional bodies to the International squads. The Game Anglers Instructors Association Game angling is generally used to describe fly fishing for salmon, sea trout, trout and grayling. The Game Anglers Instructors Association members are qualified to teach in aspects of fly fishing, ranging from fly fishing for trout, grayling and sea trout, fishing for the mighty salmon or how to tie the flies used when fly fishing. if you are a complete beginner looking to get started in the wonderful world of game angling, or an experienced fly fisher looking to improve or extend your fly casting, fishing or fly tying skills, come along and meet the instructors today with free lessons and take a step into, or further into, the exciting world of fly fishing. The British Antique and Vintage Tackle Fair Now many anglers and enthusiasts including the younger generations would like to use older and traditional items of tackle, but are not sure where to find them. With this in mind Living Heritage will once again feature the " British Antique and Vintage Tackle Fair " as an intergrated event during 2009. where tackle can be bought, sold, swapped or just admired; a veritable "antique roadshow" style of event. Peter Johnson, a retired professional rod maker associated with Living Heritage for many years giving live demonstrations on the making of spilt cane traditional rods along with his pal angling historian and author Phil Waller, both set up a display of old tackle and related items, giving help and advice to the many people, the angler, aficionados and those in antiques both dealers and collectors can go and view, buy, swap and sell or get advice on any item of fishing tackle. Peter and Phil will be joined by Phill Croft in a free rod clinic giving advice, maintance and repair to any item of fishing tackle. During the course of the show there will be tackle testing sessions where you can improve your casting technique with instruction from some of the UK's top qualified casting instructors.

DirectionsBroadlands, Romsey, Hampshire, SO51 9ZD Broadlands is on the A3090 Romsey by-pass, ½ mile from Romsey town centre. The M27 motorway runs 3 miles from Broadlands providing excellent motorway and trunk road links in all directions - Central London is only 2 hours from Broadlands via the M3 and M27 motorways. Drivers should leave the M27 motorway at Junction 3 if approaching from the North and East, or Junction 2 if approaching from the West, and follow the signs to Broadlands.
